DAP-PKR MERGER?

Dear everyone,

I am thinking of recommending a DAP-PKR merger and would like to know what you think it? The two parties forming a real multiracial party (not just an alliance)?

Do you think it's a good direction for both parties, Malaysian politics and the Nation? Both parties have a multiracial constitution and promote a non-race based politics.

At the end of it, the members of both parties must decide, but no harm putting the idea into their conciousness : )

Please do send me your comments.

Thanks.

Anas

  1. Unless BN component parties can merge, I do not think DAP-PKR or DAP-PAS or DAP-something can merge. Unless a "third voice" could make a difference, no one will step forward to do it. This is at least what I believe. However, I may be wrong. I trust and willing to believe there will be, one day, a "third voice" which will represent MALAYSIA as one, a party which consists of all ethnics, one that is really bangsa Malaysia. Hope to witness this while I am still alive (as if I am so old la...). I am writing this after drinking a few packs - so they say drunk people tell the truth? :)

  2. I think it is sound like a good idea for PKR-DAP to merge. Do you think Lim Kit Siang would agree with it. I still doubt.

Then PAS and UMNO could UNITE under Unity Government. Even better for all Malaysian. Regardless of what we all may think. Sorry to say that a stronger Malay would put thing in order. Good for us Malaysian.

  3. growing up in all these hoo-haas makes no difference to me and made me realized how much the younger generation are going away from ever bothering the political scene which rather seems to be childish act of misdemeanor.

I love the eccentric idea of multiculturalism, however, given if its not going to be used for personal agenda later days.

I stopped myself from reading the news, or even buying any as it seems a waste of money which also allow me to indulge in frugal manner as everyday you see those head of states screaming and bitching about one another.

If only some people could stop illegal logging, save the Orang Asli settlement, pay some attention to current haze & environmental issue, poverty where rich are getting richer and poor are even poorer, invest in making the public transportation system better etc etc yadda yadda....

There are many things they could make their focus. Rather than their personal political ideology. Merge or no merge it makes no difference to some, as not many cares anymore. Its all about against the (pardon me for saying this) ever going to be screwed up government.

Nowadays, janji duit masuk semua happy.

  4. Nice in principal but politicians will always manipulate in order to advance their self interests. In fighting is seen in every political party because of selfish interests... if they are unable to close ranks even amongst themselves, I cannot imagine the utopia that you suggest will ever be able to exist

  5. Would be happier if they can have a common say on matters of policy and governance. The problem with PKR and DAP seems to be that issues of differences are not settled behind closed doors; but in the full light of the media. And too many spokespeople from both sides.

Merger is nothing; if they could become equal partners heading in the same direction.

  7. A merger is only possible if only people put their self-interest aside and look at the best interest of the people of this country. It's sad to see the current political scene with accusations and trivial matters brought up to bring each other down. Having said so, I still hope to have a "one voice" where all of us unite for the best interest for all people and our country. :)

  9. Anas,
There is an excellent idea and there is more healthy to have an alternate government. That is the trend and that is the people want - otherwise they won't vote for it.

    Good luck,

  10. It is an excellent idea. It is the trend and there is a cross check through alternate government. Otherwise, the basis principle is going into the drain.

Thanks for your wise thought, Anas.

  11. Nice idea but not too good in the long run. This leaves PAS to be a smaller component party. With DAP-PKR merger they will have 60+ seats in Parliment. PAS would feel small and have less say in the coalition.

Nevertheless if DAP-PKR were to be a success, they could be one of the biggest political party after UMNO.

  12. I don't believe it is good idea at the moment, perhaps later.

  13. Anas, too many cooks spoil the soup. Yes, it would be ideal if they merge but there are too many "strong headed people" in the party. Not everyone can be "kepala" and not everyone can agree to one "kepala". A healthy competition is when both parties play clean and let their performance be the judge of the party's effectiveness. It's when unhealthy competition comes into the picture (backstabbing n underhanded tactics)Malaysians have a cause for concern. Malaysians gain when they have more choices to pick from.

  14. Since when merger of 2 parties can unite Malaysian ?

If by merging of DAP-PKR can solve the main Malaysia issues, then it should be already working now and no need any merger. To me, Malaysia itself is a party, the only party can 100% represent Malaysian.

  15. Yes, I agree. That is great idea. And why not?
