With just RM40k we can supply water to 20k people at Pulau Banggi, Sabah

WHAT?

In conjunction with the #SaySomethingNice campaign, zubedy will be organizing a donation drive from August 2016 until September 2016 for the #BanggiWaterCrisis. Funds collected will be channeled to Beyond Pitas and Kupi-Kupi FM, two organizations that have brought the #BanggiWaterCrisis to the forefront.

WHEN?

Throughout August – September 2016, we welcome monetary donation from individuals and corporate sponsorship from business organizations to aid in the #BanggiWaterCrisis.

We will unveil the funds collected during the #SaySomethingNice campaign closing on 24^th September 2016.

WHY?

The #BanggiWaterCrisis is affecting thousands of the indigenous people of Pulau Banggi. Due to the prolonged EL Nino-induced dry spell that has hit the island since January 2016, villagers of Dusun Bonggi are now forced to walk 3km every day under the scorching heat to a spring on the hill, for their supply of water. A return trip of 6km takes about an hour. The cost to build a 3km gravity water system to bring the water to the village is estimated to be at RM40,000.

The Dusun Bonggi villagers are mostly subsistence farmers who earn about RM200 to RM500 a year. They need our help. We aim to bring more attention to the #Banggi WaterCrisis and hopefully play a part in resolving it.

HOW?

We welcome individual, group and corporate donation of any value. The donation will help in funding the cost to build the gravity water system for the people of Pulau Banggi. Donations can be made to:
