#SaySomethingNice - Nature

Kuala Selangor Nature Park.

If you talk about beautiful places to visit, Malaysia is never short of one. We have islands such as Sipadan, Redang, and Perhentian which welcome international tourists all year long. We have city attractions such as KLCC, Sunway Lagoon, and the upcoming Legoland in Johor Bahru. We also have eco-parks such as Putrajaya’s Taman Warisan and Bukit Merah.

Given all these places, we are bound to have hidden gems that are just as beautiful, if not better. Kuala Selangor Nature Park is one of those lesser known beauties. The park guards nature’s splendor in its 25 acre of land.

A heaven for bird lovers, Kuala Selangor Nature Park locates more than 150 species, so don’t forget to pack along your binoculars if you ever come to visit. The park has also built observation hides and watch towers. As nature intended, you get to see a lot than just birds, of course. Butterflies and insects are friendly neighbors at the park. Stay until night time, and you can see fireflies all over, making you feel like you’re in a Disney movie.

Kuala Selangor Nature Park houses a Secondary Forest, a 450 acre mangrove trees and mudflats. Equipped with trails, you can spend all day on your nature walk here. The forest is a habitat and breeding place of mudskippers, reptiles, and crabs, among many others.

Being only two hours from Kuala Lumpur, the nature park is a quick getaway from the bustling city for anyone. There are even chalets for those who want to stay overnights. Kuala Selangor Nature Park is truly a paradise on Earth.

And I say, this is one of the nice things we Malaysians have.
