Make Malaysia GREAT:
Think Big but Act Small.
Let
us continue to discuss ways to Make
Malaysia Great. During Deepavali, we deliberated on taking personal ownership.
This Christmas, let us talk about why we
need to think big but take small actions.
1. Why
think big?
It is important that we THINK
BIG - to have a VISION. Envisioning creates new positive energy from however small
a strength that we may have - our niche. It gives and renews hope. We can see a
better future. Thinking Big inspires us to move forward. We aspire to be the
best, the most and the greatest. It is a compass to work towards our utmost
potentials.
2. Why
take small actions?
Without
action Vision is a fantasy. Envisioning is not just about documentation but it
needs serious persistent human executions. It is the small acts done
consistently, effectively and efficiently over a period of time that translates
vision into reality. At the organisational level, it is not enough to proudly
parade lofty goals at lobbies and walkways but fall short to deliver the basics
like good service with speed and accuracy, daily. At the personal level, big
dreams without daily actions will make us a Mat
Jenin.
3. How
to take small actions?
Ask
what we can do TODAY! What small actions can we do NOW that will help us move
towards the vision? Linking what we want to have in the future with what we
need to do today is crucial. One cannot dream of success but be lazy and always
wake up late for work. Organisations cannot launch Visions and Missions without
being serious about daily performance and executions. But to execute today we
must work within our capabilities and capacity. We must work with what we have,
not what we dream of having.
At
Zubedy, our programs and activities draw strength from our shared values and
traditions. We believe that at heart, all Malaysians want good things for
themselves and for their brother and sister Malaysians, simply because our
nation cannot prosper as a whole if some of us are left behind.
You
and I, we must think big, but act small to Make
Malaysia GREAT.
Let us add value,
Have a meaningful
Christmas.
